Preeclampsia Can Increase Women's Risk Of Kidney Failure Later In Life, Study Finds
For the study, Bjorn Vikse of the University of Berlin examined 2 databases to determine the relationship between preeclampsia in pregnancies and the subsequent development of end-stage renal disease, or ESRD. Among all women who had given birth, the yearbook risk for ESRD was one subject per 27,000 women, and the condition appeared an median of 18 years later, according to the study. When Mineral skint up in 1998, they had been together for only four years and released only two full-lengths, yet their shaping of the indie careen landscape cannot be overstated. The Austin four-spot got together in 1994 and otiose no time in blanketing the land and cranking out 7"s, ab initio hook with the label of tourmates Christy Front Drive, The Audio Concept, and Caulfield Records. A zine editor program in Colorado, impressed with Mineral's groundbreaking blend of exponent and emotion, sent a 7" to the top dog of fledgeling Crank! Records, Jeff Matlow. The stripe standard perennial speech sound calls that twenty-four hours from Matlow, and so began a wedlock that would launch both label and band into tube fame. Mineral's number 1 full-length, The Power of Failing, was a powerful success and divine a fanatical following among scenesters. The young band's hold of dynamics and thoughtful lyrics about coming of age as well influenced indie stone bands everywhere, as their sound still permeates across the subway system. End Serenading turned out to be the end for Mineral, which had agreed to do its succeeding record with Interscope, a record that never happened. Still only in their other twenties, bandmembers affected onto new projects: singer/guitarist Chris Simpson and bassist Jeremy Gomez began the Gloria Record and drummer Gabe Wiley linked Pop Unknown.

Coldplay Refute 'Viva La Vida' Plagiarism Claims
Coldplay have refuted claims that they lifted the melody for 'Viva La Vida', the title track from their new album, from a song by an American indie band.
Andrew Hoepfner, the frontman of Creaky Boards, claimed that Coldplay's Chris Martin saw the band live last summer and then went on to use the melody from one of their songs.
However, in a statement, a spokesperson for Coldplay said that 'Viva La Vida' was written in March 2007, months before Martin apparently saw the band.
Hoepfner posted a video of Creaky Boards song, ironically entitled 'The Songs I Didn't Write', on the video sharing website YouTube.
"We were flattered when we thought we saw Chris Martin in the crowd that night. He seemed pretty into it. Maybe too into it,” he wrote.
'Viva La Vida' went straight in at number one yesterday (June 15th), selling 302,000 copies in just three days.

Jack Black Gets Slim & Trim
There's a little less of Jack Black to go around these days!
The lovably rotund star looks particularly trimmed and fit in his upcoming Vietnman War comedy, Tropic Thunder, and there's a definite reason for that. After getting more than an eyeful of himself on a 40-foot screen, Jack decided it was time to cut the fat.
"When I saw my rear end in my nude scene in Margot at the Wedding, it actually had a double chin," he tells Parade.com. "I�ve joined a gym because the next time you see me naked I�ll be trim."
Although looking good in nude scenes is priority No. 1, health played a factor in the 38-year-old's decision as well.
"I want to feel good too," he says. "Now If I eat a cheeseburger and fries, it tastes so good at the time and then right after it�s like, �What did I do? Why?�"
Tropic Thunder, co-starring Ben Stiller (who also directed the film) and Robert Downey Jr. revolves around three actors filming a movie about the Vietnam War. Craziness ensues when their director ditches them mid-production.
"I play kind of a Chris Farley-esque type , an actor, who is big into the excesses of the industry," Jack says of his character, Jeff "Fats" Portnoy. "He parties too hard. It�s about shooting a film about the Vietnam War film in Hawaii. My character is looking for a shot at an Oscar because usually he makes fart comedies. Come to think of it, I guess it kind of mirrors my actual reality."
The film hits theaters Aug. 15, but those longing for a dose of Black attack can check out the comedian in the animated Kung Fu Panda, which opened today. Since it was a voice role, Jack, who just welcomed his second son, did not get the chance to learn some martial arts and kick some ass -- but he has in the past!
"When I was a kid, I took karate and judo classes," he says. "I even won a trophy in a judo tournament, but I confess I outweighed the competition by 20 pounds. I never took any kung-fu classes though, I just saw it on TV and in the movies."
